The Process of Painting The Body Before The ceremony

Initiation ceremony is a tradition in my University, Airlangga University, Surabaya (East Java). Every year we held an initiation to welcome new students and new families. Since 2003 I have always helped the process of initiation and often becomes a painter for the shaman who will lead the initiation.

Inspired by the sacred ceremony welcoming new families in various tribes in parts of the world, we welcome the arrival of a new family with something special. Initiation with the concept of dance and a variety of ornaments that can add to the atmosphere became more sacred. The technique that I use in body painting shaman is using only watercolors for easy removal.
